The odd things we talk about.

You quite often find yourself talking about odd things when you are in the pub, especially after a few pints and last night we got onto the subject of Sociopaths and Sociopathic tendencies. An odd subject I know but it some how cropped up in the conversation and a good discussion followed.

After many attempts to come up with an accurate definition (and failing) we decided that all of us around the table had exhibited some Sociopathic tendencies during our life. Still intrigued by the subject I Googled it today and found a list of defining characteristics.

not learning from experience
no sense of responsibility
inability to form meaningful relationships
inability to control impulses
lack of moral sense
chronically antisocial behaviour
no change in behaviour after punishment
emotional immaturity
lack of guilt
self-centeredness

I know that I have suffered from many of the things on this list at one time or another, but does that mean the I am a Sociopath ? I hope not ! I guess it just shows that we all have the potential to be a little mad from time to time

Nursing

Nursing is a profession that I love and feel very strongly about, but it does come with a number of problems.

I am the only person when in the pub that is never asked or allowed to ask how their day went.

When people find out I am a nurse I am suddenly expected to examine every spot and rogue pimple on their body.

I am not allowed to watch hospital soaps on the TV with friends as I constantly complain about what is being done wrong.

But on the whole I am very pleased to be a nurse and put up with all the crap that comes with it (literally).

What to say in bed ?

It would be fair to say that over the years I have been around the block a few times. But in all that time I have only had three serious relationships and have just started my forth (Craig of Sherringham has decided that he is mad enough to want a relationship with me and I was very happy to accept). But what do you say in bed to a new long term partner ? With a one night stand it never mattered as you were never going to see them again – but a partner is a whole different game.

After much thinking I came up with three main headings (Yes, No and Maybe) under which things to bed said in bed can be put.

Yes
• That was great (everyone wants a compliment)
• “Moans of delight” (but don’t over do it)

No
• Have you finished yet ?
• My Ex was better than that !
• Wake me up when you are done.

Maybe
• Directions – left a bit, right a bit (its always best to hit the right spot but too many directions can sound like your trying to put flat pack furniture together)
• Lets do it again (can be flattering but may sound like you didn’t enjoy it the first time)

This is not an exhaustive list and hopefully you and I can add to it over time.
